Golf Setbacks

5000 hours – 7:55 hours = 4245 hours

 

Hello everyone I am still alive and kicking, last year I started the determined to golf to help me to play and train to get to scratch. So, with that said it was not been a great start to my challenge of the deliberate practice by cutting into 5000 hours.  Setbacks tend to happen won’t be the first of many I am sure to come.  The plan now is to continue taking the month of April 2017 to analyze and make a good plan of attack.  

Today is the last day of The Masters weekend and very inspired by the great work Sergio Garcia. Today I did get up at 5 am to have a nice morning jog and then after my jog worked for about an hour on my short game. Today was not a Tiger day but I felt I did not want to overdo it but wanted to get back in action.

Since I haven’t touched a club in over a year ever since I got sick last year in May 2016 for a least 3 months it appears that eating a so call healthy place got me sick. I had gotten food poison and the food was contaminated with a under cook parasite.

The antibiotics worked but the reaction to Flaggy got me feeling even worst then the action parasite. Well like I said getting back into golf felt great having the sun hitting me being out on that beautiful manicured lawn had me smiling.

I spent about and one hour and two minutes practicing my short game my chipping. I play a game that I call the five-ball drop. What I do is I take five balls and I drop it along the fringe of the putting green and I drop them randomly like all different shots landing near the green.

Ill chip each shot with the idea trying to make it but also trying to control the shots by hitting close to the hole within five to three feet from it. 

I start off with five balls If I manage to make the chip it into the hole then I eliminate the ball leaving me with four balls if I make another then I eliminate another ball leaving me three and you get the idea.

Last night after watching The Masters 3rd round I decided to re-focus my strategies taking from Tiger Woods playbook meaning Tiger day schedule I created my own to get me to practice more and take advantage.

 

Monday through Friday

5:30 a.m.- wake up drink two glasses of water and prep the protein shake.

6:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. -One hour of Putting  

 7:30 a.m. – Drive to work.

 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Work all day office job – High protein/low-fat breakfast. Typically includes egg-white omelet with vegetables. 

 9:30 a.m. – High protein/low-fat breakfast. Typically includes egg-white omelet with vegetables. 

 11:30 a.m. –  One hour of cardio. Choice between endurance runs, sprints, burpees or biking. 

 12:30 p.m. –  High protein/low-fat lunch. Typically includes grilled chicken or fish, salad and vegetables.

 5:30 p.m. – Prep Dinner before heading out to the golf course. 

 6:00 p.m. – Two hours on the golf course. Work on swing, short game or occasionally play nine holes. 

 8:00 p.m. – One hour of upper weight training. High reps. 

 9:30 p.m. – Dinner and rest.

 So, this is the schedule I came up with sounds tough but I don’t have the luxury of quitting my job and dedicating it to golf I need my day job.
